Woman dies after head-on collision in Paradise

A 92-year-old woman, Dorothy Lovrien has passed away as a result of complications from the injuries she sustained in a Paradise car accident.

The crash happened around 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Wagstaff Road and Parkway Way. Nicholas Cook, 23, was driving a Jeep Cherokee eastbound on Wagstaff Road and did not see traffic come to a stop in front of him. He swerved into the oncoming traffic lane and hit a BMW SUV head-on.

The driver of the BMW, 64-year-old Diana Neal and her passengers, 58-year-old Maria Richardson and 92-year-old Dorothy Lovrien were transported to Enloe Medical Center. The Paradise Police Department announced last night that Lovrien passed away as a result of her injuries.
