Authorities in Shasta County are still investigating a vehicle attack involving a brutal assault that left one woman fighting for her life.

Sheriff's deputies responded to a call of two vehicles ramming into each other on Carberry Road in Burney Saturday.

Authorities say after forcing the driver of the other car off the road, the two female suspects then allegedly used a baseball bat, a metal pipe, and rocks to damage the victim's car and violently attacked the woman.

She suffered broken ribs, a collapsed lung and a lacerated liver.

She was flown by helicopter to mercy medical center in Redding, where she was last listed in critical condition.
