Tehama County sheriff’s deputies arrested a woman Friday after officials with the Rancho Tehama Reserve School reported a person wearing a wig and trench coat while walking with a rifle near the campus.

Deputies were called to the school around 8:30 a.m. and were directed toward a home just south of campus. The campus was immediately locked down.

At the house, police say they located Kimberly Ellen Salazar, 43. Salazar admitted to being the person wearing a trench coat and wig, and said she had a pellet gun.

Deputies asked to see the pellet gun, and learned that the firearm in question was actually a shotgun, with an illegal 16 inch barrel.

A stolen Dodge pickup was found in Salazar’s backyard.

Salazar was arrested and booked into the Tehama County Jail. Nobody was injured during the incident.
