A woman is arrested for driving under the influence after getting into an accident in Redding. The accident happened around 5pm Sunday night in the area of Pine and Shasta Streets. The driver, later identified as 36-year-old Gretchen Miller, was driving a Kia Sportage northbound on Pine Street when she ran a red light and hit a Ford Ranger Pickup Truck being driven by 17-year-old Tyler Flynn. Upon impact with the truck, the Kia then rolled into a Cal Trans traffic signal control box, which caused lights in the area to go out. Miller ran from the scene, but was later caught and arrested for DUI, felony hit-and-run and driving on a suspended license. Both drivers suffered minor injuries. Cal Trans hopes to have traffic signals in the area up and running by noon Monday.
