Tuesday was a windy one in the Valley, and it looks like these north winds are going to be sticking around for the next couple of days.
A potent (but dry) cold front swept through the North State today, cooling us down and kicking up a gusty north wind. Temperatures dropped around 10 degrees in the Valley (compared to Monday's highs), and up to 20 degrees in the mountains! These temperatures are much closer to normal for this time of year, and should continue going into the weekend.
A gusty north wind kicked up behind the frontal passage, and we saw 20 to 35 mph north wind gusts in the Valley. The surface pressure gradient will stay tight over the next couple of days, so those north winds will gust to near 35 mph again tomorrow and Thursday (although they do subside somewhat at night).
A colder storm is heading our way late this weekend and early next week. Models are now indicating a few showers from it on Easter Sunday and next Monday, along with even colder weather! High temperatures will finally drop below normal next week, after a very warm March.
It seems like Old Man Winter has decided to make a Spring appearance!
