Part of a huge oak tree split to fall on a home in Chico this afternoon.
It happened shortly after 2 p.m. at 1121 Chestnut Street.
No one was injured, but PG and E crews were called in to repair downed power lines, and City Code Enforcement also responded to inspect structural damage to the building.
The Red Cross was called to help the couple who live there along with their two year old son.
Gusty winds were likely a factor.
At about the same time there were reports of lines down on Henshaw Avenue near Alamo in north Chico.
And just before 3 p.m. workers were dispatched to Third and Ash Streets in Chico to a report of a large tree limb across the road.
No injuries were reported. ##
