The Willows Police Department has recommended that charges be filed against a 19-year-old woman for falsely reporting to police that she was raped inside her Willows home on August 13.

According to Willows police, forensic evidence has revealed that 19-year-old Abigail Trevino was not raped by an armed man inside her home, and the department has forwarded a criminal complaint to the Glenn County District Attorney's Office requesting that charges of Filing a False Report of a Crime be filed.

Trevino originally told police that around 7 a.m. Wednesday August 13, a white man wearing blue jeans and a sweatshirt, armed with a handgun entered her residence and sexually assaulted her.

Trevino told police the suspect had fled the scene before she called 9-1-1.
