A Willows man is critically injured and his wife is now missing.

Willows Police Chief Jason Dahl says his officers arrived at an East Willows property at around 6:20 Sunday night, and found 29-year-old Zir Weems bleeding profusely from self-inflicted wounds.

He says witnesses tell police Weems and his wife, 23-year-old Angelica Weems, had engaged in some sort of dispute, then went for a walk.

Dahl says they've gathered that he returned about half an hour later, but she did not.

He says they started a ground search on foot for Angelica last night.

"We've continued that on today, we've brought a K9 out today, as well, we're going to be flying it, and then we're going to be talking about search and rescue getting involved as well to see if we can locate her," Dahl said.

Enloe Medical Center confirms as of this afternoon that Zir Weems is in fair condition.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call Willows Police at 530-934-3456.
