Willows School Board chooses not to retain beloved teachers

Hundreds of Willows High School students rallied to save the jobs of two popular teachers Thursday morning, but despite their efforts, the school board unanimously decided not to re-hire the two teachers.

On Thursday the students held a protest called ‘Naps for Paul", and instead of going to class at 8 a.m., students sat in the hallway to show support for Paul Gadbois and Paul Bailey.

The school protest then moved the Thursday night's school board meeting, where hundreds of students and parents took to the Willows Civic Center to make it known they support the teachers.

During the meeting, the board voted 5-0 not to grant tenure to Gadbois and Paul Bailey. The two teachers will remain employed only through the end of the semester.
