A Glenn County man is in jail after police say he stole a pickup and then led them on a chase through Willows Wednesday afternoon.

Police say that around 2:15 p.m., 35-year-old Justin Begley stole a Nissan Frontier from the intersection of Humboldt and Sycamore Streets.

A California Highway Patrol Helicopter caught up with Begley near Yolo Street, and minutes later a Glenn County deputy and Willows Police Officer joined the chase.

The pursuit continued northbound on Yolo Street and onto County Road 48 reaching speeds in excess of 100 mph, but everything came to an end when a CHP officer deployed spike strips near County Road 49 ½.

Begley was taken into custody and booked into the Glenn County Jail on suspicion of vehicle theft.
