Glenn County Animal Control Officials are asking for help from the public in locating the dog responsible for a recent bite incident in Willows.
It happened shortly before 3:00 p.m. Thursday, February 20th. A 69 year old woman was bitten by a dog while attempting to prevent a dog fight …. at the rest stop on southbound Interstate 5 at County Road 39.
The dog/dogs responsible were described as black and white Boston Terrier/Bulldog type, possibly one male and one female. The dogs were being walked by another woman at the rest stop when they tried to get to the victim’s dogs. When the victim attempted to prevent the dogs from fighting, the other subject’s dogs bit her on the hand, breaking the skin.
Willows CHP officers and Animal Control conducted a search of the area, but were unable to locate the dogs or the owner. If the animal responsible for the bite is unable to be located, the victim will have to undergo costly and extensive rabies post-exposure vaccinations. Anyone with information about the owner of the dogs is urged to call the Glenn County Sheriff’s Office immediately at 530-934-6431. ###
