A 2-year-old Williams boy drowned in an inflatable swimming pool on the Fourth of July.
The child, was discovered in the pool after it is believed he slipped out of the family's home on Franklin Drive and made his way into the backyard, Williams Police Sgt. Ed Anderson said Tuesday.
Family members found the boy motionless in the pool and began performing CPR. The family called 911 and started driving him to a hospital in Colusa, they were met by EMS crews halfway, but the child did not survive.
A preliminary autopsy performed Saturday showed the death was consistent with accidental drowning. No criminal charges have been filed and no foul play is suspected.
