Wildcats softball team sweeps Saturday doubleheader

The Chico State softball team swept a doubleheader against Cal State East Bay Saturday at University Softball Field.

Chico State defeated the Raiders 12-5 in the first game, following that up with a 9-5 victory in the nightcap.

The Wildcats picked up 21 runs on 23 hits with two home-runs.

Chico State catcher Tori Zimmeran went 4-for-6 with a double, three runs batted in and three runs scored. Alli Cook collected four hits, scored five runs and stole two bases. Courtney Brown slugged a grand-slam in the first game, while Brynn Lesovsky clubbed a three-run shot in the second game. Desiree' Gonzalez racked up five hits and Emily McEnaney secured three base-knocks.

Chico State (6-2, 3-1 in CCAA) continues their twelve-game homestand next week with a four-game series against San Francisco State. Both Friday and Saturday doubleheaders are slated to begin at noon.
