It's only a matter of time before the Wildcats take the court in the Elite Eight of the NCAA D-2 tournament.
Chico State's first round opponent is University of South Carolina Aiken, a team making its second straight Elite Eight appearance.
On Saturday, the 'Cats put in their final preparations for the Pacers in Chico before leaving early Monday morning to Evansville, Indiana, the site of the big tournament.
Tip-off against South Carolina Aiken is set for Wednesday at 6:30 PDT.
Chico State is playing in the Elite Eight for the first time in program history and while the 'cats are certainly focused on making the most of this rare opportunity, head coach Greg Clink says they're looking forward to the other events surrounding the big stage as well.
"As soon as we get there, we get off the bus and we're headed to a banquet. On Tuesday we'll perform some community service, each team has a community service event that we do, we're going to spend some time with families of homeless veterans so we'll have an opportunity to visit with them. There's also an autograph session for the kids on Tuesday. There's a press conference that afternoon, practice that evening and then a shootaround and the game on Wedensday, so it's a full schedule but a lot of fun stuff planned," said Clink.
"We really have a chance of winning this whole thing so we're trying to concentrate and do this thing together. This group of guys I wouldn't trade them in for anybody in the world," said Wildcats forward Amir Carraway.
