The Chico State men's soccer team kept their postseason hopes alive Sunday by defeating Cal State San Marcos 2-1 at University Soccer Stadium.

The win evened Chico State's record at 6-6-3 overall and 4-4-2 in the CCAA. The Wildcats are in eighth place in the conference standings, just two points behind seventh-place Cal State Monterey Bay and five behind fourth-place UC San Diego, which has no more conference games left on the schedule.

The Wildcats host Cal State Montery Bay on Thursday. A win would enhance their playoff chances and knock the Otters out of contention. The action gets underway at 7:00 p.m.

On Sunday Chico State got goals from Omar Nuno and Andrew Palmer.

Wildcats goalkeeper Andrew Matthews finished the day matching his season high of seven saves.
