Today was another mild day around the North State, and while a few weak storms will brush us this week... I'm not anticipating big changes. This weekend will be different, however, as rainy weather returns!
High pressure is hanging tough over California, and that's deflecting the storm track northward. That won't change much this week, although a couple of weak storms will try. One will bring a few showers near the Oregon border tomorrow, and a somewhat stronger one will give everyone a few scattered showers on Thursday. But neither will deliver significant rain.
That pattern will change this weekend. High pressure will break down, and we'll see a strong jet stream develop in the Pacific... which will bring plenty of moisture into California! The first surge looks to bring rain in Friday night and Saturday. The steady rain should turn to showers on Sunday and Monday, but we should stay wet. Next week looks wet as well. Temperatures will drop, so the snow levels will be dropping also (but NOT down to the Ridge).
So, after a quiet February, it looks like March is going to come in like a lion!
