More wet weather is ahead in your Friday forecast, but amounts will not be as significant as Thursday's. Scattered showers will continue across the valley, with the potential for thunderstorms this afternoon. Mountain areas will have more rain, and snow showers ahead, with snow levels falling to around 4000 feet. Some areas could see snow down to around 3500 feet, but that will not stick.
Temperatures are starting out in the high 40's for the valley, and are only projected to top out in the low to mid 50's. The Northern Sierra is in the mid 30's, while the Northern Mountains are starting out in the mid 40's this morning. Afternoon high temperatures will only climb into the mid 40's to low 50's this morning.
Partly cloudy, and warmer conditions are ahead for your weekend. The next chance for showers will arrive on Sunday evening, and last through midweek. That system will be very cold, and will have snow levels close to, if not lower than the levels we are experiencing today.
Please continue to be careful on the slick roads (especially in snow covered mountain areas), and have a fantastic Friday!
