It was another nice day in the Valley as thunderstorms erupted in the moutains this afternoon. We'll do the same thing tomorrow, but a Pacific storm could bring light rain for everyone early Saturday!
Plenty of moisture remained available today (did you notice a bit of humidity today?) to fire off more afternoon thunderstorms in the mountains. These will diminish overnight, but once we add sunshine to the moisture again tomorrow... look for more mountain thunderstorms in the afternoon. They should contain lightning, locally heavy rain, and possibly small hail. Temperatures won't change much.
A Pacific storm will spread clouds over us as it breaks high pressure down on Friday, which will lead to cooler temperatures. Models are now aggressive with bringing light rain into the North State with it! This is a new solution (so there is still a bit of uncertainty). But the timing looks to be very early Saturday morning for us in the Valley, then turning to partly cloudy skies by later in the afternoon. The showers may linger in the mountains for most of the day. Skies will clear Saturday night and temperatures will warm to nearly 80 in the Valley by Sunday, so we'll still get one outdoor day this weekend.
Models are building high pressure up quick early next week, which will bring the warm weather back then. But Friday is looking cooler, and early Saturday is now looking a bit wet for us!
