Mostly cloudy skies Wednesday around the North State, but it remained mostly dry. That will change Thursday, as a wet & windy storm moves in!
There were a few showers in the Siskiyous on Wednesday, but the rest of the North State was dry. A nice Fall storm will move in Thursday, with both rain and wind! As a surface low develops near Oregon, that will cause the south winds to gust 35 to 40 mph in the Valley. The morning may see a few showers, but the brunt of the rain will arrive in the afternoon and early evening. Rainfall amounts look to be generally between 1/3" and 1/2", although Redding will see much more... around 3/4"! This is a mild storm, so snow levels will be near 4500' in the Siskiyous, and near 5000' in the Sierra & Cascades.
A few showers may linger into Friday, but not much. Saturday will be dry, but a weaker storm will arrive Sunday, with a few showers lingering into Monday. This one doesn't look to have much wind, and snow levels shouldn't change much.
Next Tuesday will be dry, then a healthy storm will move in late Wednesday and Thursday. If models are correct, this could be a soaker! We'll continue to watch what computer models think of it over the next week.
Overall, it's a wet seven day forecast!
