Wet & Cooler Weather Ahead For The North State

Apr 8, 2016 10:27 AM by Cort Klopping

Mostly cloudy skies, cooler temperatures and a slight chance of showers are ahead for your Friday. Showers are mostly projected to stay to our South today, but there is still a 20 percent chance of some precipitation tracking North into the region this afternoon. Temperatures are starting out in the low to mid 50's for the valley, and in the low 40's to low 50's in the mountains. Afternoon high temperatures are projected to climb back into the mid 70's to low 80's in the valley this afternoon, and into the mid 60's to mid 70's in the mountains. Winds will be light, but could jump up to around 10mph out of the East this afternoon.

Showers become much more likely heading into your Saturday forecast. There will be a 60 to 80 percent chance for precipitation tomorrow. Valley areas could get up to a half inch of rain through Sunday, and mountain areas could get between 1 to 2 inches of rain during that time. Most of the precipitation is projected to subside by Sunday morning. Temperatures will only climb into the mid to high 60's for the next couple of afternoons in the valley.

Slightly warmer temperatures, and partly cloudy skies will be ahead for the start of next week. There will still be a slight chance for showers on Monday, and Tuesday, but the much more likely return of wet weather will hold off until Wednesday. Temperatures will dip back into the low 60's for the middle of next week. I hope everyone is ready for the wet and cooler weather on the way for this weekend, and has a fantastic Friday!
