Residents in the Chester and Lake Almanor areas are still trying to recover from last weekend's storm. Several homes were damaged and a few were even deemed destroyed. 43 homes in the Lake Almanor area and over 30 structures in Chester were damaged, three of which were deemed a complete loss. Crews were in the mountain communities today repairing damage and restoring phone lines.
"We were very lucky nobody got hurt. For people out there when weather people do predict storms just be prepared for long durations of power outages." says Peninsula Fire Chief Gary Pini.
At the peak of the storm on Friday a total of 8,000 PG&E customers were without power in Plumas County. Today all power was restored. Crews are expected to be in the area until next week repairing damages.
