Water Savers program introduces eco friendly car wash

New drought restrictions are going into effect starting August 1st. With the new restrictions car washing at home, without a nozzle, will not be allowed.

With the Water Savers program, participating car washes across the U.S. use less water washing a single car, than we do on our dirty laundry.

Scrubbs Hand Car Wash and Detail Center in Chico is happy to be a part of it. The program requires professional car wash facilities to meet certain criteria like using less than 40 gallons of water per car. The automatic shut off nozzles at Scrubbs make it so they use 50%-75% less water than you would use washing your car at home.

They also recycle water with sanitary sewer tanks that filter their water.

Using less water and having proper drainage prevent soaps and chemicals used on the car from getting into our storm drains.

If the Chico Scrubbs isn't near you, Water Savers has a location finder for all participating car washes. Just visit the Water Savers homepage.
