A major water-main replacement project will force the City of Redding to close a section of the Sacramento River Trail for at least three days beginning Wednesday.
The City of Redding has contracted with RTA Construction, for $693,630, to replace the 12-inch water main on the North Market Street Bridge.
The north side of the Sacramento River Trail from the river trail parking lot on Traveled Way to Caldwell Park near the Aquatic Center will be closed from Wednesday through Friday. A detour will be provided along Traveled Way across North Market Street and through Caldwell Park. The work will occur directly under the bridge. During construction this section of the River Trail will be completely closed to the public 24 hours per day.
The City of Redding wishes to advise all trail users to avoid using this section of the River Trail during the construction period.
