Washington state governor asks for help with mudslide

DARRINGTON, Wash. (AP) - Washington state Gov. Jay Inslee is asking the federal government for a major disaster declaration.

Inslee says estimated financial losses from the deadly mudslide have reached $10 million, and some 30 families need help with housing.

Officials have confirmed at least 24 deaths, not including the three victims found Monday.

Twenty-two people are missing.
