ASTORIA, Ore. (AP) - An Everett, Washington, man accused of abducting a 15-year-old California girl he met online, sexually assaulting her and finally letting her go in Oregon has pleaded not guilty to 12 felony charges.

The Daily Astorian reports Russell Wayne Deviney's bail was set at $1 million after prosecutors discovered he had assets from former employment at Microsoft. Deviney's attorney says he has no money.

The 48-year-old Deviney was arrested May 14 near Cannon Beach. Police say the girl, from Sanger, Calif., thought she was meeting an 18-year-old boy. After assaulting her at a rest area, Deviney left her at a fast-food restaurant in Astoria.

A grand jury on Thursday indicted Deviney; he entered his plea Friday in Clatsop County Circuit Court. His charges range from first-degree kidnapping to first-degree rape.
