Warmer and windy around the North State today, but those winds will diminish significantly overnight. The warmup continues into the weekend, where we'll see our hottest temperatures of the year... so far.
North winds gusted 30 to 40 mph in the Valley on Wednesday, thanks to a big pressure difference over California. That pressure difference will equalize out later tomorrow, allowing those winds to relax. Tonight, however, look for gusty winds down the Feather River Canyon again... the Jarbo Gap winds will blow on the Ridge while Valley winds calm down. We may see a few 20 to 25 mph north wind gusts early tomorrow in the Valley, but those will calm down by the afternoon.
High pressure will strengthen over California through the weekend, warming us up significantly. Look for highs in the Valley to reach the upper 80's by this weekend!
The ridge will break down next week however, and a cool storm from the North Pacific will spread clouds over us by Tuesday, and showers by next Wednesday... big changes!
But this weekend is looking almost like a summer preview!
