Wednesday was a much quieter day around the North State than yesterday. Look for skies to clear and warmer weather heading our way through the weekend!
Cold, unstable low pressure that brought lots of Valley rain & T-Storms (and mountain snow) yesterday has moved east, and our skies will clear by Thursday. This will allow our temperatures to warm back up to near average for this time of year. A weak storm will brush the North State on Saturday and may bring showers to the Siskiyous and Cascades, but much of the rest of the North State will be dry. This is a very weak system, and won't cool us down much... if at all.
Models are now indicating another cold, Gulf of Alaska low will drop into the North State early next week. It's looking like moisture will be more limited than yesterday's storm (so not as much Valley rain/mountain snow), but it should again have plenty of instability... so Valley thunderstorms will be possible again next Tuesday. It's still quite a ways out, so there will be fine tuning done to the forecast, but severe weather is possible early next week.
But until then... beautiful Spring weather returns Thursday!
