Unsettled weather moved through the North State today, with showers and even a few thunderstorms. Look for warmer and windier weather coming our way over the next few days!
A storm moved into northern California today, and while it didn't have much moisture, it had plenty of instability. That lack of moisture led to only a few showers in the morning, but once the sunshine of the afternoon combined with the instability of the storm, that sparked afternoon thunderstorms. The strongest were in the San Joaquin Valley, and near Lake Berryessa, where we had funnel clouds sighted!
This unstable storm will move east overnight, and sunny, warmer weather will come our way tomorrow. North winds will also pick up, with 25 to 30 mph gusts in the Valley on Thursday. Those winds will subside on Friday, and then really get strong on Saturday.... Look for 35 to 40 mph north wind gusts!
Temperatures will warm to near 80 the next few days, then into the middle 80's by Sunday and Monday.
