Sunny to mostly sunny skies, breezy North winds, and slightly warmer temperatures are ahead for your Wednesday. Temperatures are varying throughout the valley this morning. Oroville, and Redding have dipped into the high 60's to low 70's overnight due to stronger North winds, while the rest of the valley has dipped into the mid to high 50's. Mountain areas are starting out in the low 30's to low 40's this morning. Afternoon high temperatures are projected to climb into the low to mid 80's in the valley, and into the high 60's to high 70's in the mountains. Winds will be up to 15mph out of the North for the valley, and mountains. Foothill locations will have sustained winds up to 15mph out of the North, with gusts to 30mph. Those winds are a big concern for the foothill areas as drought stricken trees are prone to falling in stronger winds.
Temperatures will slowly cool over the next several days, and winds will decrease through the end of the week. Valley areas will fall into the high 70's to low 80's this weekend. The next chance for showers will arrive on Sunday night into Monday morning. That system does not look impressive, but a wetter system looks more likely for the middle of next week. I hope everyone stays safe with the strong winds continuing across the region today, and has a wonderful Wednesday!
