It was warm and a bit windy in the Valley on Friday, with highs in the seventies and a blustery north wind. That wind gusted to 39 mph in Redding, while only 14 mph in Chico. These winds will slowly diminish overnight (except for the Jarbo Gap winds near the Ridge... They'll come roaring down the Feather River Canyon again tonight) and look for our highs to warm even a bit more on Saturday! That'll be the peak of the warmth, however, as high pressure slowly breaks down after that. We'll see clouds thicken Sunday afternoon, which will lead to a chance of light rain north of Red Bluff on both Monday and Tuesday... but not much.
A stronger storm will approach the coast late next week. That will cause the clouds to thicken again on Thursday, and look for wet weather to return Friday... lasting through next weekend!
