Sunny and warmer today, and even warmer tomorrow! A cool storm will move in on Sunday.
High pressure returned to the North State today, and warmed us up nicely. Surface high pressure to our north kicked up the north winds... We saw 25 to 30mph gusts in the Valley. Those winds will diminish overnight, and Friday and Saturday will be sunny and even a bit warmer! Very nice weather for the Halloween trick-or-treaters.
A cool storm arrives on Sunday, and lingers into Monday. It's not looking like a very wet storm, but it does have decent cold air for early November. Models are backing off a bit on the wet weather Sunday, but we should still see showers... which will continue into Monday. As cold low pressure rotates over us Monday, we could spark an afternoon thunderstorm off in the Valley. Snow levels will start near 8000' Sunday, but drop to near 5000' by Monday morning! There won't be too much snow in the mountains, but what does fall on Monday could be at relatively low elevations for early November. Skies will clear later next week as this storm moves east, but temperatures will take a while to recover.
Don't forget: Daylight Saving Time ends Sunday morning! Fall Back, we get an extra hour of sleep.
