A wanted parolee was arrested Thursday night, after he tried to flee from police by climbing on the roof of a mobile home in Anderson.

Redding police learned that 35-year-old Barry Edward Fourzan, wanted for robbery, vehicle theft and parole violations, was in a trailer at mobile home park in Anderson. When they tried to take him into custody Fourzan, who appeared to be under the influence of a stimulant, climbed onto the roof of the mobile home.

Authorities were finally able to take Fourzan into custody, and then lowered him from the roof by strapping him to a backboard.

Fourzan was taken to Mercy Medical Center for evaluation and then booked into the Shasta County Jail.
