Mother Nature is making up for lost time. A winter-like storm system moved across California Monday dropping rain and snow on the North State.
We put together a few of the photos and videos viewers shared with us throughout the day.
The first video was sent to us by Linda Griggs, it’s of her two dogs Maya and Raider and was taken around 9:30 a.m. near Chester at an elevation of nearly 6,000 feet. Linda tells us that Maya, seen on the left, loved her first snow day.
In parts of Shasta County light snow fell throughout the morning with temperatures dipping into the 30’s. The second video was sent in by John Crystal, who filmed a light snowfall at Camp McCumber in Shingletown around noon.
Mt. Shasta Ski Park saw its first snow of the season Monday, leaving skiers and snowboarders optimistic about the upcoming season. The park plans to open on December 17.
In Magalia, Action News Now viewer Sherron Presser sent us video of snow falling at just above 2,700 feet.
The remainder of the week will stay dry, but there is a chance for rain in Northern California again this weekend.
