A Redding man was sent to the hospital after suffering an assault yesterday.

The victim, Levi Mayhan, 42 years old, was stabbed by Kenneth Clark, 30 years old. Apparently, the assault sparked from an argument between the two men, which led to Clark stabbing Mayhan multiple times on his side and head area.

According to the Shasta County Sheriff's Department, this was one of a number of crimes that Clark committed in the county yesterday morning, along with Timmathy Philpott, who reportedly fled the scene of the assault before the stabbings occurred.

Philpott was released by deputies. Clark will be booked into Shasta County Jail for charges of Attempted Murder.

The Sherff's Office asks that anyone with information on this case to contact (530) 245-6025 or (530) 245-6540.
