The victim in yesterday’s fatal accident on Hwy 32 near the Gainella Bridge to the east of Hamilton City has been identified as 65-year-old George Akers of Vina, according to the Butte County Sheriff’s Coroner's Office. The crash is still being investigated by CHP.

Just after 1:45 p.m. yesterday afternoon Akers was traveling west on Hwy 32 in his brown Ford Ranger when, according to CHP officials at the scene, Akers failed to notice traffic slowing down ahead of him.
