Veterans frustrated by presidential debate on Iraq war

Veterans of the Iraq War have been frustrated watching Republican presidential contenders distance themselves from the decision their party enthusiastically supported to invade Iraq.

In recent days likely Republican presidential candidates starting with Jeb Bush have been asked about whether they would have decided to invade Iraq, knowing what is now known about Saddam Hussein's WMD stockpiles.

Some veterans say they long ago concluded their sacrifice was in vain, and are annoyed that the Republicans are running from the decision.

Others say they still believe their mission was vital.

And some find the gotcha question itself being posed to the politicians an insult.

Former army soldier, Gregory Diacogiannis said in real life it's impossible to "do-over" such momentous decisions.
