California Highway Patrol investigators have recommended that the driver in a crash that killed a Las Plumas High School student be charged with vehicular manslaughter.
The report, submitted by the CHP Monday, recommends that the driver of the car, 18-year-old Bill McDonald Jr., be charged with vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence.
On May 1, McDonald was driving a two seater sedan on Lower Wyandotte Road, with two passengers. Cameron Sabatino, 17, was killed in the crash, while Lance Anderson, 14, suffered major injuries.
Investigators say McDonald was speeding at the time of the crash.
