The Redding Police Department has arrested 33-year-old Bradley Wible who was wanted for stealing a woman’s car and assaulting her with the car’s door as he sped away from the Redding Wal-Mart parking lot yesterday.
On Monday the victim, identified as Shannon Touhey, reported her 2004 Toyota Corolla stolen from the Mercy Medical Center’s parking lot. Yesterday, Touhey spotted her Corolla in the Wal-Mart parking lot. When Touhey attempted to approach the suspect he reportedly sped off and hit Touhey with an open car door knocking her to the ground.
At 11:19 a.m. today, The Redding Police Department received a tip that Wible was in the parking lot at 1220 Sacramento Street. Officers arrived at the scene and found Wible attempting to hide inside a parked car. After Wible reportedly refused to obey their orders, K-9 “Tarro” was deployed and assisted in arresting Wible.
Wible was transported to an area hospital where he received medical treatment for a dog bite. He was later booked into the Shasta County hails for assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a stolen vehicle. Touhey’s car was eventually returned to her.
