Cal Fire investigators are asking for the public's help finding a vehicle that may have contributed to the cause of last week's Bella Vista fire.
The vehicle is described as a dark-colored flatbed tow truck that was hauling two vehicles, one of them a light-colored late model sedan. It is believed the vehicle of interest may have been traveling westbound through the Highway 299 construction zone, 2 miles east of Bella Vista.
Investigators believe a mechanical failure may have caused the fire. It is possible the vehicle stopped in the area of Highway 299 and Deschutes Road to make adjustments to the towed vehicles.
The fire, dubbed the "Dry Fire" burned 143 acres near Old Ranch Road and Highway 299 in Bella Vista and destroyed a barn on July 9.
