Vehicle fire in Corning determined to be arson

Corning Police responded to the area of Fig Lane and Marguerite Avenue at approximately 11:30 p.m. after a pick-up truck fire had been extinguished by volunteers from the Corning City Fire Department and several citizens.

Officers discovered two suspicious burn marks and several questionable items with in the front cab area of the 2008 Ford F250. Officers, along with a CAL Fire investigator, determined the fire to be arson.

Officers collected evidence and fingerprints that will be sent to the Department of Justice lab for analysis.
