Fire fighters in Gridley battle a fire that broke out around nine Thursday night near the railroad tracks along Washington Avenue in the area of the Gridley Cemetery. A Cal Fire spokesperson reported the size of the fire to be about eight acres. Railroad traffic was shut down due to the fact that firefighters are working near the tracks. But the railroad track has now been re-opened. No structures were reported threatened and no word on how the fire started.
