Vegetation fire near Tuscan Ridge Golf Course held to 15 acres

A fire that initially threatened about 300 acres of vegetation near the Tuscan Ridge Golf Course has been fully contained.

According to Butte County Cal Fire officials, the fire was initially reported at 10:35 a.m. near Media Way and Lookout Point, and was initially reported at 10-15 acres, with moderate spread, but had the potential to burn up to 300 acres.

Crews reported they had forward spread stopped and the blaze 70 percent contained around 11:15 a.m., the fire was reported as 100 percent contained around 2:30 p.m.

No structures were ever threatened, and no injuries have been reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, and crews expect to remain on scene monitoring the area for hotspots into this evening.
