An investigation is underway after Oakdale Elementary School officials arrived to work Thursday and found the campus had been ransacked.
According to the Butte County Sheriff's Office, vandals broke into the school, which is on Las Plumas Avenue, around 3 a.m.
Principal Rick Desimone says those responsible smashed a window and went through an office, but it's still unknown what, if anything, was stolen. Deismone said students attending summer school were visibly shaken when they saw the damage.
This is the second act of vandalism at Oakdale in as many weeks, the campus was recently tagged with graffiti and the windows on a classroom were smashed.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Butte County Sheriff's Office.
