Police are looking for vandals who caused thousands of dollars in damage to a Redding car wash.
Employees of the Cypress Street Auto Wash reportedly arrived at work early Saturday morning to find a payment booth badly damaged.
A cash register was strewn out on the ground, and a computer was missing. The damages are estimated at approximately $5,000.
Store manager Stacy Drake tells Action News Now the business has had a lot of trouble with transients in the area. “Some mornings we'll get here, there'll be homeless sleeping in our detail areas... Alcohol bottles, cans, dirt, human feces you have it, it's there... There's really not much you can do about it,” Drake said.
The vandalism forced the car wash to close Saturday, and no security video is available to help police with the investigation.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Redding Police Department.
