The seven Chico Country Day School students involved in a rollover crash near Vacaville Wednesday morning have been released from the hospital.
The students left Wednesday morning for San Francisco on a field trip that involved going to the Exploratorium and the museums at Golden Gate Park. They were traveling in vans driven by some of the parents.
According to the Vacaville Police Department, one of the vans crash just after 8 a.m. on Interstate 505, just before the Interstate 80 interchange in Vacaville when a reckless driver cut them off. The vehicle rolled off the roadway, flipping three times.
The driver of the other vehicle was identified as 36-year-old Juan Puga, of Winters. He was cited for an unsafe lane change an driving without a license.
Seven students were involved in the crash and one student suffered a broken bone, however no serious injuries were reported. All Seven students and the driver were transported to NorthBay VacaValley Hospital for treatment. The driver of the van remains in the hospital.
Chico Country Day School contacted all of the parents of the students involved, and arranged for them to be brought home Wednesday.
