Mild temperatures and partly cloudy skies over the North State this afternoon will give way to rain tomorrow... along with a few scattered thunderstorms, which could be strong ones!
High clouds moved into the North State today, ahead of a strong spring storm coming our way. This storm will bring us rain to start our Friday, about 1/4" in the Valley. Snow levels will be near 6000'.
The rain should end by early afternoon. If we get some sunshine afterwards... that would be the perfect set up for strong thunderstorms! This storm is very unstable, and combined with the relatively strong April sun... that's a good recipe for strong (or even severe!) thunderstorms. A funnel cloud is possible in the stronger storms... if they develop.
This low will move east by the weekend, leaving us with partly cloudy skies and temperatures near normal for April. That's the way next week will start as well.
