UPDATE: Paradise Police release new details in November domestic violence shooting

Paradise Police have released the results of an autopsy and subsequent investigation following a November domestic violence shooting. They say November 21, 2015, officers responded to an incident on the 5300 block of Sawmill Road. They say they found Julia Gonzalez, 47, with a gunshot wound to the head. She survived, and was flown to U.C. in critical condition. They say Troy Smith, 50, was located deceased in another room of the residence. According to investigators, they've determined that, following a domestic violence incident the night before, Smith approached Gonzalez and she slept, and shot her. He then turned the gun on himself, according to police.
