Paradise, Calif -- Firefighters across Butte County battled an early morning structure fire in Paradise.
Crews were called out to the Quail Run Professional Plaza on the 5900 block of Clark Road, next to the library around 5:15 a.m. Friday.
Crews believe the fire started outside of the building, then moved quickly to the upper floor and attic. About one-third of the building is damaged, and a portion of the second story collapsed.
The fire was contained before 7 a.m., the cause remains under investigation. As of 7 a.m., power was out for the entire building, it is unknown if the building offices will reopen today. Crews are inspecting the building to ensure no one was inside during the blaze, but there are no reported injuries at this time.
Fire crews will remain on scene throughout the day to clean up the area and put out hot spots.
The office building was home to the Butte County Mental Health Adult Outpatient Center, and county officials have announced the center is closed Friday and anyone who had an appointment scheduled should call (530) 891-2810 with questions.
