Cal Trans reported Wednesday that a jack-knifed big rig truck was blocking all northbound lanes of Interstate 5 near Vollmers in Shasta County. No word on if there are any injuries as a result of the crash.
While wet conditions are present on the interstate throughout the North State, there is no indication of what caused the truck to lose control and partially leave the freeway. Motorists should avoid the stretch of interstate if at all possible, as congestion highly likely on both sides of the highway.
Cal Trans said they are unsure of how long it will take clear the interstate and complete the investigation.
This is developing story, stay tuned to Action News Now for all the details as they emerge.
