It was an unsettled day around the North State on Thursday, but not much for the northern Sacramento Valley. Slight chance of wet weather will continue into Friday.
Showers and thunderstorms erupted all around the northern Sacramento Valley Thursday, but most of the Valley stayed dry. Big thunderstorms dropped pea sized hail near Sacramento Thursday evening! Low pressure dropped southward from the north Pacific to just off of San Francisco today, and will head into southern California tomorrow. Even with the low a bit further away, the atmosphere will remain unstable Friday, and a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm will continue then. The Valley will dry up and warm up a bit this weekend as the low pushes east. In the mountains, however... the chance of wet weather lasts into most of next week!
The Valley will see a mix of sun and clouds both this weekend and into next week. Temperatures will slowly warm up, but slowly is the key word here... Still no hot weather in sight. And the mountains will stay unsettled with afternoon showers and thunderstorms for the forseeable future. That's great news...Let's squeeze every last drop from the clouds up there before the summer heat arrives!
